- Sandy Rivers: "We should have sex!"
- Robin: "What?!?!"
- Sandy Rivers: "Why not, we’re both available, we’re both attractive, we’re both good at it, at least I’m good at it, and even if you’re not, don’t worry, I’ll have a good time either way."
- Robin: "Well moving past the horrifying image of your hair helmet clanging against the headboard, I don’t get involved with people I work with."
- Sandy Rivers: "Get involved? Who said get involved? I'm just saying we should have sex! Having sex is fun!"
Daniel.
Ted: We broke up over a year ago.
Robin: Yeah, but that's not that long ago. Watching you marry
another woman isn't exactly something I was looking forward to.
I don't know, I just thought if I ever changed my mind about
marriage and kids, it was nice to know that you were there.
Ted: So I was your safety school. How flattering.
Robin: No, that's not it. It's just that...
Ted: Why are you bringing any of this up? There is nothing
between us anymore.
Robin: Maybe there is, I mean of course there is. That kind of
stuff just doesn't disappear without a trace. Look, I'm not
just another guest here Ted.
Ted: Right, we used to date but we both moved on and look,
we got what we wanted. I'm getting married and you got your
dream job in Tokyo and they all lived happily ever....
Robin: I quit my job.
Ted: You what?
Robin: I'm moving back to New York, I though I wanted that
job but I want to come back to my real life and I think you
should go back to yours.
Ted: What's that supposed to mean?
Robin: Don't get married. Look, you're rushing into this. It's
like you're trying to skip ahead to the end of the book. Ted,
you are the most romantic guy I know. You stole a blue french
horn for me, you tried to make it rain.
Ted: I did make it rain.
Robin: It was a coincidence. But after all that this is how
your great romantic quest comes to an end? You're just
disappearing into someone else's wedding, someone else's
house, someone else's life without a second thought. That's
not the amazing ending that you deserve. That's not Ted Mosby.
Though, while I am in love with Robin Scherbatsky, I do find it selfish of her to be saying this to Ted. She was originally the reason for their incompatibility. She didn't want to get married or want kids, but then she goes and says to Ted that "it was
nice to know that you were there". It really shows how immature she is to think she can decide if their relationship is "On" or "Off". Love isn't a switch. You hurt someone like that and usually friends is all your going to get out of them. But I like how Ted comments to the group that Robin is his best friend. (Quickly corrected by the guys to his best*female*friend.) But never the less, someone he still cares a great deal about as a friend. Why can't people just be friends?

Ps: I find myself with a lot of similarities between me and the character Ted Mosby from the show How I Met Your Mother. After I lost interest in House MD, and discovered this show, I have found that I never get bored of any episodes. HIMYM is probably the best show of all time, and I probably wouldn't want to know you if you didn't like it. Sorry, but Ted feels the same way about the original Star Wars, Episode 4.
